Good morning!
On a recent trip with a friend, she mentioned that the last time she'd made this trip with another friend, they'd taken a route that was off the main road. Although, I was unfamiliar with this alternate route, I was asked to map out this route to our destination. I went online and using one of the popular mapping services, plugged in our starting point and destination. Once I found the desired route, I consulted with the friend. She told me that sounded like the route. I printed it out and we were on our way.
Along the way, we came into areas that were foreign to both of us. There were lots of hills, wooded areas, and towns whose names were unfamiliar to us. I became a little uncomfortable with this route, as did my friend. We began doubting the usefulness of the directions. With every turn and long flat stretch of road, we became more and more convinced that we were going the wrong way.
Finally, I asked, "Did we bring the map?" Thankfully, we had. We pulled off at a small gas station which doubled as the country store and pulled out the atlas. We compared the printed directions I'd found online to the atlas. We found that we were indeed on an alternate route. A route that while it included more turns and junctions than we were used to, it was still taking us in the right direction. It was off the main road but ran alongside it. Imagine our relief.
With this new perspective, we continued along our way, with a renewed sense of confidence in the route we had chosen.
Because life can take us places we've never been before, we need to be mindful to stop and compare what we believe to be true with what the Word says. If it lines up, then we can keep on going. If not, then we may have to pull over for a minute and get our bearings again so we can get back on the right path.
Just a WORD TO THE WISE!
God bless you and have a GLORIOUS day!!
