So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food (the lust of the flesh), that it was pleasant to the eyes (the lust of the eyes), and a tree desirable to make one wise (the pride of life), she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.
When the tempter came to [Jesus], he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread," (the lust of the flesh). But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'" The devil...showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory (the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life). Then Jesus said to him, "Away with you, Satan!"
In that He himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
Blessed is the man who endures temptation.
Heb. 4:15; Gen. 3:6; 1 John 2:16; Matt. 4:3-4, 8-10; 1 John 2:16; Heb. 2:18; James 1:12
Temptation is irresistible to us, but not to Him.

WORD TO THE WISE #58: Abiding in “The Shadow of the Almighty”
Hello, folks! Here's the Word to the Wise I shared on-air today.
Ps. 91:1-10 (KJV)
Abiding in “The Shadow of the Almighty”
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, he is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him I will trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
God Bless you!

WORD TO THE WISE #57: We Are Our Brother's Keeper
Hello, all! Here's your Word to the Wise for this week!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They talk of the grief of those you have wounded.
I was a little angry, and they helped - but with evil intent.
Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.
He who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins. Comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.
Let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way. We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
Love...does not rejoice ion iniquity. Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.
Ps. 69:26;Zech. 1:15; Gal. 6:1; James 5:20; 1 Thess. 5:14; Rom. 14:13; Rom. 15:1; 1 Cor. 13:4; 1 Cor 10:12
Let these versus hep you to reach out to someone who has stumbled or fallen in his or her Christian walk.
We are our brother’s keeper.
WORD TO THE WISE #55: Proud or Humble...Which Are You?
Good evening, friends!!
Here's the Word to the Wise I shared during the broadcast today. I pray it blesses you!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now we call the proud blessed
Thus says the High and Lofty One who inhabits all eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”
Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination unto Him: a proud look... Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord.
Search me, O God and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Grace to you and peace from God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God upon every remembrance of you. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Mal. 3:15; Isa. 57:15; Prov. 16:19; Matt. 5:3; Prov. 6:16-17; Prov. 16:5; Ps. 139:23-24; Phil. 1:2-3; Matt. 5:5
From these verses, describe God’s attitude toward the proud; toward the humble. Which are you?
Remember...
Pride is spiritual body odor!

WORD TO THE WISE #51: Looking Back
Hello, thank you for your patience! Here's today's Word to the Wise as read on-air this morning. Keep reading for more on today's meditation.
December 10
Looking Back
The underdog does not stop to philosophize about his position.
- Paul Laurence Dunbar, from The Fanatics
While we can use our time-outs to correct our mistakes or to put in place a new strategy for the play ahead, we need to focus our energy on trying to move on, to break out from behind.
Again, this is not to say that we should not occasionally glance at the clock and get an idea of our position. The point is this: if we dwell on poor past performance - individually or as a team - we risk psyching ourselves out, demoralizing ourselves, and wasting time better spent maneuvering into the lead.
On this day, I will do at least one thing that advances me toward my goal.

On this day, I will do at least one thing that advances me toward my goal.
One of my goals is to go through clothes that my family no longer wears and donate them to one of the local shelters. Today, I advanced toward that goal by sorting through some of the clothes and putting one full garbage bag of clothes in the back of the truck. This gets the clothes out of the house and now when I'm out I can just swing by and drop the clothes off.
Log in and let me know how you followed through on the Word to the Wise today.
God bless you!

WORD TO THE WISE: #47 Dreams
Dreams
Here's the reading I shared on-air this morning. Let it propel you into this coming week. Don't just dream...accomplish!
Dreams
It’s time to move from hope to making what we hoped about and dreamed about real. Now is the time for the prophecy to be fulfilled. - Calvin O. Butts
Can any one of us be content with only his dreams? Hardly. Hopes and dreams give us reason to live and struggle but should never replace solid action. To visualize success is one thing to live it another. We must use our dreams to drive us to make us work. Only then can we hope to achieve. Realizing our dreams gives us the confidence to dream more and bigger dreams. And why not? Why put limits on the number and breadth of our achievements. Our work is not for our glory alone but aids and inspires our people too. Opening five supermarkets instead of one puts five times as many people to work. It is our accomplishments as writers, architects, teachers, doctors and designers - and yes, as parents also - that inspire others, not our mere dreams. Anyone can dream; all of us must accomplish.
On this day I will do at least one thing that will help me accomplish one of my goals.

WORD TO THE WISE #42: Trust in God's Power
Today's WORD TO THE WISE came from the web site of Joyce Meyer.
Today's WORD TO THE WISE warns against thinking more highly of worldly knowledge than of that inspired by God. Overall, I like the devotional. I usually "get" Joyce but today there was a short phrase in her devotional that I just didn't quite "get". If you were listening to the entire broadcast, you may have noticed that I cut that small part out during the 6:00 and 7:00 hour.
As you read the devotional for yourselves, you'll notice it at the last part of the second line in the third paragraph. If you can give me some enlightenment around that phrase, please do.
http://www.joycemeyer.org/Articles/Devotional.aspx
Be sure to check back tomorrow when I'll post more about today's broadcast!
Have a great day!!! Make it GLORIOUS!!

WORD TO THE WISE #41: Do You Know Him?
Hi, all!!!
Today's Word to the Wise is a simple but very important question.
Do you know where you'll go once your life here on Earth is over? If you don't, I strongly urge you to get to know who Jesus Christ is.
He is the Son of God who came into the world in the form of man to live among us. He lived a sinless life but died an excruciating death on the cross for your sins and mine. Christ died to pay for our sins. Now, we don't have to die in our sins.
He rose from the dead on the third day with all power over sin, death and the grave. This gives you the right to eternal life.
If you want to receive this gift of forgiveness and eternal life, all you've got to do is:
1. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Son of God.
2. Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.
3. Pray - confessing your sins and asking for forgiveness.
4. Receive Christ into your life.
THAT'S IT!!
Now, walk in the newness of your life!
If you study your bible and pray regularly, God will show you ways that you can be a beacon of light for those still living that life you left behind.
That's our WORD TO THE WISE today! I pray it blesses you real good!!
If you already know Jesus Christ as your savior, I pray that you will share this post with at least three others who may or may not know where they'll be headed when this life is over.
